The most popular Christmas song in
Italy. A favorite of Pope Francis.
Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle (You Came Down From The Stars)
by Andrea Bocelli
O Bambino by Nancy Sinatra
Tu scendi dalle stelle was composed by Alfonso Maria de' Liguori, a Neapolitan
bishop, in 1754, who later became St. Alfonso Liguori.
The lyrics to this carol were originally in the
Neapolitan dialect.
The carol was first called Quanno nascette
Ninno.
The song was later re-written in Italian by
Pope Pius IX and became a carol famous all over the world.
