Feast of our Lady of
Mercy
(Our Lady of Ransom)
During
this Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy,
we
celebrate today the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy which was
formerly the Feast of Our Lady of Ransom.
Mary’s
mercy and love of virtue is beautifully illustrated in the icon of Our
Mother of Perpetual Help,
especially
in her mercy-filled eyes as she foresees her Son’s passion and death.
Your family
name has been placed before the original icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help
in the Church
of Sant’Alfonso (St. Alphonsus Ligouri) in Rome.
