Drink a White Cloud Today

Have a cloudy day!

Did you know that:
There is a city named St. Cloud in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida.
Those cities are named for the village of St. Cloud in France.
St. Cloud in France used to be a country village but is now an upscale area of Paris.
St. Cloud is named for St. Clodoald (522 – 560) who was the 3rd son of King Clodomir of Orleans and the grandson of St. Clotilde.
St. Cloud had an evil uncle Clotaire who murdered St. Cloud’s two brothers to gain the crown and also tried to murder St. Cloud.
St. Cloud renounced his rights to the Kingdom of Orleans throne and became a hermit and then a priest in Paris.
St. Cloud died at age 36 of natural causes.
St. Cloud’s feast day is September 7.

To honor St. Cloud, drink a White Cloud:
            1 oz. cream
¾ oz. crème de banana
¾ oz. white crème de menthe

From Wikipedia:

Clodoald was raised in Paris by his grandmother, Saint Clotilde. He was one of three brothers, all of whom were targeted for assassination by their uncle, Clotaire I. Clodoald's brothers, Theodoald and Gunther, were killed by Clotaire when they were ten and nine respectively, but Clodoald survived by escaping to Provence.  Clodoald renounced all claims to the throne, and lived as a studious hermit and disciple of Saint Severinus of Noricum.  Visited by many for counsel and healing, Clodoald in effect gained nothing by keeping himself remote from society. He therefore returned to Paris, where he was received with joy. At the people's request, he was ordained a priest by Bishop Eusebius of Paris in 551, and served the church for some time.   Clodoald established an abbey at a hamlet named Novigentum, on the Seine near Versailles, that is now a collegiate church of canons regular called Saint Cloud wherein his relics are kept. The hamlet hosting his tomb was renamed Saint-Cloud accordingly.  Clodoald's feast day is September 7.
