What we have lost

What we have lost.  Remember this?

Beautiful music with some good scenery . . .

The most beautiful rendition of Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus

“Up to 1970, when Mass was in Latin and celebrated with devotion and reverence, this was often sung by the choir during the distribution of Holy Communion, as the congregation came forward to kneel at the Altar rails to receive the Bread of Life. Nowadays, our parish choir is long since disbanded, the organ gathers dust, and our parish priest tells those of us who still come to Mass to bring out song books with us so we can keep singing some happy clappy rhyme as we queue up to be handed Communion by a school girl as he stands there waving his arms to encourage us to sing.  The spirit which inspired Mozart and other great composers to set these devotional texts to music to beautify our worship has long been lost in the Catholic church.”

To get people to church, get rid of the guitars and play this music.  Restore the Liturgy!
