The Past 50 Years

If you are over 50 years of age, you have lived through dramatic cultural changes.

Columnist Jeffrey Kuhner at the Washington Times has noted some of the remarkable changes that would have been unheard of in 1950:
birth control is now a way of life;
sex outside of wedlock has become the norm;
divorce has skyrocketed;
countless children have been permanently damaged — their innocence lost forever — because of the proliferation of broken homes;
tens of millions of unborn babies have been slaughtered by abortion;
illegitimacy rates have soared;
pornography is rampant;
drug use has exploded;
sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS have killed millions;
the entertainment media (Hollywood, TV, theater, arts, literature) relentlessly promote sexual hedonism and radical individualism;
universities and public schools have embraced the secular agenda and prohibited religious expression and even study of religious history;
sodomy and homosexuality are celebrated openly;
the Democrat Party has been captured by the radical secular left;
conservatives have ceded the culture to the secular left out of fear of being called mean, uncompassionate, racist, and sexist;
church attendance has declined dramatically, and influence of religious leaders is almost non-existent and often prohibited in the public square
morals have become relative and replaced by individual conscience of what is right and wrong
