Absolve Domine - Catholic Requiem Mass Tractus
The "Absolve Domine" is a part of the
Requiem Mass, sung after the "Requiem" and before "Dies
Irae". I apologize for the poor quality of this recording, but I was
inspired to upload it nonetheless. The "Absolve" seems to be
difficult to find, especially one sung in this form. I hope you can be inspired
as I am whenever I hear this beautiful song. May God bless you all, and may He
have mercy on the souls in purgatory. The lyrics and translation follow:
Absolve, Domine,
animas omnium fidelium defunctorum
ab omni vinculo delictorum
et gratia tua illis succurente
mereantur evadere iudicium ultionis,
et lucis aeternae beatitudine perfrui.
Forgive, O Lord,
the souls of all the faithful departed
from all the chains of their sins
and by the aid to them of your grace
may they deserve to avoid the judgment of revenge,
and enjoy the blessedness of everlasting light.
