Born in Antioch.
Bishop of Formiae, Italy.
To avoid persecutions, fled to Mount Lebanon where he was
fed by a raven.
Discovered, captured, tortured, and sent to Emperor
Diocletian; but he was freed by an angel.
Taken prisoner, again; tortured by having his intestines
wound on a spindle and then beheaded.
His cult spread from Italy to German in the 15th
Century.
Invoked against intestinal illness and the pains of
childbirth.
