Franciscan Mission in Ventura

Aug 26:   Buenaventura Mission in Ventura, CA

Did you know that Ventura is an abbreviation of Buenaventura who is a saint.
The Mission San Buenaventura was established by Padre Junipero Serra on the Feast of St. Buenaventura.
I paid $4 to tour the St. Buenaventura Mission which is on Main Street in Ventura.
The museum is rather simple.
The gardens are nice but don’t have much.
The church is very historic with very old statues and a classic Latin altar.   I may return here on Sunday for Mass with the Franciscan friars.
