3 Secrets - 3 Drinks

May 13 – October 13, 1917  (99 years ago)

Three shepherd children in the village of Fatima in Portugal saw apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 6 occasions.

Our Lady revealed 3 secrets to the 3 children:
-          A terrifying glimpse of Hell and a warning that most people go there because they neglect to worship the Divine Trinity.
-          A request to spread devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a request the pope to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart, a request that faithful go to Confession and Communion on the first Saturday of each month.    Failing to respond to these requests would result in Russia becoming communist and a second world war.
-          A warning that a “bishop dressed in white” would be felled by bullets and arrows fired by enemies of Christ   (May 13, 1981 – Pope John Paul II shot in Vatican Square)

Honor Portugal by drinking a port tonight.   The word “port” comes from the Portuguese city of Oporto from which port was shipped to the world.

Honor St. John Paul II by drinking Chateauneuf-du-Pape (Chateau/Castle of the Pope) wine.

Honor the 3 secrets by drinking tripel (triple) ale/beer from a Trappist abbey.

Why is May 13 a special day:
Our Lady of Fatima first appears to the children.
Pope John Paul II is shot.
Will the world end on May 13, 2017 – 100 years after Our Lady appeared in Fatima?
