Nov 18: I Killed My Sister & Now I'm A Saint

My name is Tanguy (or Tanguid or Tanneguidus)
I was born in the Brittany region of France around 500AD.   In my youth, I was a member of the entourage of the Frankish King Childebert I.
I had a sister named Haude (or Aude), and we both disliked our evil stepmother.   I foolishly believed the slanders against Haude that my stepmother told me which incited me to rage against my sister.  So, I went to find my sister who was washing clothes in a fountain.  Haude heard my calling her and was scared and ran, but I pursued her and beheaded her in my raging madness.
I repented of the monstrous crime that I had committed.  I went to confession and spent 40 days fasting in the forest and decided to live the rest of my life as a penitent.  So, I entered a monastery in Bats.
I later founded and became the abbot of the monastery of Gerber.  I also founded the Monastery of St. Matthew, near Brest, where a relic from the head of St. Matthew was enshrined (before evil men destroyed the monastery and the relic).
In my 70s, I had a vision of angels playing musical instruments.  I knew this was a sign that I would soon die and enter into heaven where I would be reunited with my sister.   I died in 572AD and was buried in the Finistere (land’s end) region of France which is the westernmost coastal region of France.
I was canonized 20 years later.  My feast day is November 18, and my sister’s feast day is November 17.
We now watch over our beloved region of Brittany.
