Did you know that the Catholic Church teaches that everyone has a guardian angel?
Did you know that the Catholic Church teaches that you should not name your guardian angel? Do you know why?
As indicated in this prayer, your guardian angel lights, guards, rules, and guides you which means your angel has authority over you such as a parent.
You don’t call your parents by their names because they have authority over you and it would be disrespectful. Likewise, you don’t call your guardian angel by a name.
Also, God made angels greater/higher in the celestial hierarchy than he did humans. So, mind your guardian angel, pray to your guardian angel, and behave.
Angel of God
My guardian dear
To Whom His love
Commits me here
Ever this day
Be at my side
To light and guard
To rule and guide. Amen
