The Truth about the Crusades

Popular Belief:  The Crusades were attempts by Catholic armies to convert pagans, Jews, and Muslims to Christianity or kill them and take over their lands.

The Truth:  Contrary to popular belief, the Crusades were not a campaign to spread faith by the sword, but a defense of Christians and their holy places against Muslim aggression as well as an answer to  desperate pleas from Christians under assault in their homelands as Islam spread by the sword out of Saudi Arabia.

This video explains:
-       False belief by Christians that the Crusades were a shameful period of their history
-       President Clinton’s ignorant and false statement about the Crusades
-       The false history applying moral equivalent to Christians and Muslims during the Crusades
-       Revisionist history portraying Christians as aggressors against innocent Muslims
-       Eight crusades over 200 years which started in response to the Muslim conquest of Christian Jerusalem
-       Forced conversions to Islam by Muslims; while such conversions are against Catholic teaching and history
-       Sir Walter Scott’s book “The Talisman” which gave a false history of the Crusades
-       Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany’s fascination with Scott’s book and his false belief in mass-murderer Saladdin as a moderate Muslim
-       Egypt as a strong Coptic Christian nation with a Jewish minority that was converted to Islam by force
-       Joseph François Michaud’s 6-volume false history of the Crusades and his imperialist agenda
-       How Muslims changed their view of the Crusades from great Islamic victories into a false story of poor victims of evil Christian aggression
-       Just War Doctrine that allows Christians to defend themselves against the onslaught of Islamic warriors
-       Why today’s Christians should be proud of their Crusader forefathers’ defense of their religious beliefs
