New Obamacare Tax Form in 2014

Here’s the new tax form that you will have to submit starting in 2014 to let the IRS know all about your medical information:

Every January, health insurance companies across America will send out tax documents to each insured individual. This tax document—a copy of which will be furnished to the IRS—must contain sufficient information for taxpayers to prove that they purchased qualifying health insurance under Obamacare.
Simply put, there is no way for the IRS to enforce Obamacare’s individual mandate without such an invasive reporting scheme.

I especially like the part of the form where illegal aliens can declare that they are except from all this crap.

Las Vegas Newspaper Rips Into Obama

In one of the most blistering denunciations of Barack Obama ever penned, the Las Vegas Review Journal published an editorial today that excoriated Obama

“This administration is an embarrassment on foreign policy and incompetent at best on the economy - though a more careful analysis shows what can only be a perverse and willful attempt to destroy our prosperity.

To return to office a narcissistic amateur who seeks to ride this nation's economy and international esteem to oblivion, like Slim Pickens riding the nuclear bomb to its target at the end of the movie "Dr. Strangelove," would be disastrous. Candidate Obama said if he couldn't fix the economy in four years, his would be a one-term presidency.

Mitt Romney is moral, capable and responsible man. Just this once, it's time to hold Barack Obama to his word. Maybe we can all do something about that, come Tuesday.”

Origin of All Hallows Day

The earliest certain observance of a feast in honor of all the saints (hallows or hallowed) is an early fourth-century commemoration of "all the martyrs."

In the early seventh century, after successive waves of invaders plundered the catacombs, Pope Boniface IV gathered up some 28 wagonloads of bones and reinterred them beneath the Pantheon, a Roman temple dedicated to all the gods. The pope rededicated the shrine as a Christian church. The Pantheon is still standing but is no longer a consecrated church.

According to Venerable Bede, the pope intended "that the memory of all the saints might in the future be honored in the place which had formerly been dedicated to the worship not of gods but of demons"

The first papal canonization occurred in 993; the lengthy process now required to prove extraordinary sanctity took form in the last 500 years. Today's feast honors the obscure as well as the famous—the saints each of us have known.

Hallowed be their names.

Most People Think They Are Going To Heaven, But Most Will Not

A recent survey indicates that most people think they are going to heaven, but Jesus said that most will be going elsewhere:
Jesus passed through towns went and making his way to Jerusalem.  Someone asked Him, “Lord, will only a few people be saved?”
He answered them, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough.”
~ Luke 13:22-30

Religious leaders should spend less time preaching “God is love” and more time preaching “repent or go to hell” like this:

“The greater part of men choose to be damned rather than to love Almighty God.”
~ St. Alphonsus Maria Liguori

“ . . . on the threshing floor, few are the grains carried into the barns,
but high are the piles of chaff burned with fire.”
~ Pope St. Gregory the Great

“It is certain that few are saved.”
~ St. Augustine

“Out of one hundred thousand sinners who continue in sin until death, scarcely one will be saved.”
~ St. Jerome

“What I am about to tell you is very terrible, yet I will not conceal it from you.
Out of this thickly populated city with its thousands of inhabitants,
not one hundred will be saved.  I even doubt that there will be as many as that.”
~ St. John Chrysostom

“Christ’s flock is called little [Luke 12:32] in comparison with the greater number of reprobates.”
~ St. Bede the Venerable

“The greater part of men will set no value on the Blood of Christ and will go on offending Him.”
~ St. Isidore of Seville – Father and Doctor of the Church

“How few the elect are may be understood from the multitude being cast out.”
~ St. Hilary of Poitiers

“The majority of men will not see God excepting those who live justly
purified by righteousness and by ever other virtue.”
~ St. Justin – Martyr

“There are a select few who are saved.”
~ St. Thomas Aquinas

“The number of elect is so small – so small – that were we to know how small it is, we would
Faint away with grief: one here and there, scattered up and down the world.”
~ St. Louis Marie De Montfort

Sadly, the vast majority of people will go to hell because they choose to.

If I were the devil

PAUL HARVEY’S ‘IF I WERE THE DEVIL’ TRANSCRIPT

If I were the devil … If I were the Prince of Darkness, I’d want to engulf the whole world in darkness. And I’d have a third of it’s real estate, and four-fifths of its population, but I wouldn’t be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree — Thee. So I’d set about however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the churches first — I’d begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: ‘Do as you please.’

“To the young, I would whisper that ‘The Bible is a myth.’ I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what’s bad is good, and what’s good is ‘square.’ And the old, I would teach to pray, after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington…’

“And then I’d get organized. I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting, so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa. I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.

“If I were the devil I’d soon have families that war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves; until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames. If I were the devil I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions — just let those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

“Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography — soon I could evict God from the courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money. If I were the devil I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.

“If I were the devil I’d take from those, and who have, and give to those wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. And what do you bet? I could get whole states to promote gambling as thee way to get rich? I would caution against extremes and hard work, in Patriotism, in moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on the TV is the way to be. And thus I could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words, if I were the devil I’d just keep right on doing on what he’s doing.

Paul Harvey, good day.”

Georgetown University needs an exorcism

Remember the 1971 fiction book and the movie, The Exorcist, that was  about Jesuit priests from Georgetown University conducting an exorcism on a girl who lived nearby the university and was possessed by demons?   The author of that book, William Peter Blatty, graduated from Georgetown in 1950, and he now thinks Georgetown is possessed by demons and needs a good exorcism.

Like many graduates of that Catholic university, Blatty is fed up with the scandals there which include:
* removing crucifixes from the classrooms
* allowing the vile play, The Vagina Monologues, to be performed on campus
* covering up religious statues when President Obama spoke there
* hosting pro-abortion and Catholics-in-name only such as Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and  Kathleen Sibelius
* Georgetown faculty’s support of Obamacare and its provisions that attack religious liberty
* Georgetown faculty’s protesting a speech by Vice Presidential candidate and devout Catholic Paul Ryan

He is also embarrassed by Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke demanding free contraceptives to be paid for by fellow Catholics and all other tax payers.

He is especially aggrieved that the Jesuits who run the university have failed to comply with the directive of the late Pope John Paul II for Catholic Universities to comply with
Catholic doctrine which Georgetown has ignored for many years in an effort to be more “secular” and appeal to non-Catholics.

So, Blatty plans to petition the papal nuncio (ambassador) of the USA to ask for a “visitation” from Vatican authorities to investigate and decide if Georgetown should remain as a Catholic institution (as was recently done for a group of far-left American nuns and for a radical leftist Catholic university in Latin America).  Blatty is looking for others to sign the petition and has formed a society to help with this effort to reform Georgetown.   So, he formed The Father King Society which is named for a Jesuit priest who fought for reforms at Georgetown many years ago when it also strayed from its charter to provide an education in keeping with Catholic teaching and tradition.

Do you know the meaning of the word "Halloween?"

Halloween is short for All-Hallows-Even. Even or Eve refers to the evening before the day.

Christmas Eve is the night before December 25. Similarly, Hallows Eve is the night before November 1, the Catholic festival of All Saints. This holy day of obligation was known as All Hallows since "hallow" is a more ancient form of "holy." For example, "hallowed by thy name" means "holy is thy name." All Saints = All Hallows. In fact, November 1 was once called "Hallowmas."

For those linguists out there, hallowed comes from the Old English word haligra which fell out of use before AD 1500. Those who know German will recognize it's similarity to heiliger.
