Happy Winter
Solstice!
Today is the
shortest day of the year and the longest night.
Veni Veni Emmanuel by Mannheim Steamroller:
Dec 21: Fourth Monday of Advent – O Rising Dawn
(Dayspring)
Today is the fifth day of the O Antiphons sung
at vespers (6pm).
It is the Sun, the Redeemer, whom we await.
"I am the light [the sun] of the
world" (John 8:12).
Christ is the light of the world because of the
faith which He has infused into souls.
O come, O Dayspring (Rising Dawn), come and cheer
Our spirits by tine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
