Social Injustice

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) runs the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).

Under the pretense of fighting poverty and injustice, the USCCB-run Catholic Campaign for Human Development has disfigured Catholic Social teaching to make it nothing more than a tool to help promote sexual immorality and Communism.

The Facts:

* Jesus did not say “Blessed are the poor.”   He said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit” which means the humble and faithful believers who will go to heaven.

* The book Citizens of the Heavenly City by Dr. Arthur Hippler describes the true social work of the Catholic Church which is evangelizing and bringing others into the one true universal Church.  Cardinal Raymond Burke, a true follower of Catholic doctrine and the Magesterium, wrote the introduction.  Every Catholic should read this book.

* Liberal/Progressive US Catholic Bishops created the Catholic Campaign for Human Development in 1969.

* From the start, the CCHD had a leftist “social justice “agenda instead of true social work with a focus on saving the souls of the poor.

* The CCHD follows a false social agenda.  It promotes a leftist social justice agenda.

* The American Life League (ALL) sent a letter to each US Catholic Bishop in 2009 identifying 14 CCHD grantees which directly promote anti-Catholic practices.  Another 41 groups associated with anti-Catholic groups were also identified.  The bishops responded by de-funding only one of the groups.

* The CCHD is influenced by John Sweeney, President Emeritus of the AFL-CIO, who favors same-sex marriage and promotes a gay rights agenda.

* One grantee of CCHD is Bread for the World which is a UN agency which promotes population control through contraception, sterilization, and abortion.  The PBS travel guide, Rick Steves, is a promoter of this group and its agenda.

* The Center for Community Change is another CCHD grantee with an agenda that is virulently anti-Catholic.

* Many CCHD grantees are associated with leftist labor unions, the leftist National Organization of Women, and Planned Parenthood.

* Many CCHD grantees promote abortion, homosexual rights, and Marxism.

* Many CCHD grantees attend the annual U. S. Social Forum which promotes a far-left agenda including Marxism.

* We must ask if the CCHD’s agenda is to set up a rival Magisterium as they operate in opposition to the Holy Father and Catholic doctrine.

* Catholics should refuse to give their hard-earned money to CCHD and let the US Catholic Bishops know why.

* It is the duty of every Catholic to inform their fellow Catholics, their pastors, and the US Catholic Bishops about these intrinsic evils.

* Charity and helping the poor is a duty of every Catholic, but it must not be done through the corrupt and evil CCHD.
