Free people are not equal. Equal people are not free. (Think this
one
over and over…makes sense!)
"A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one,
you'll
probably never need one again."
The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or
confusing.
Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is
subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the
government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting
poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other
countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet
they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the
21st Century. Makes you wonder who is doing the math.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our
current government and cultural environment:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics,
but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few
lunatics.
Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering…
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of
money. But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of
money
! What's interesting is the first group "worked
for" their money, but
the second didn't.
Think about it.....and Last but not least :
3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our
military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we
are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.
What are we missing?

you
are doomed to live under the rule of fools." – Plato

The Night I Outran My Demons
The night I outran
my demons - The exorcism of a cancer-ward doctor

Morrissey at the Catholic Herald
Dr John Morrissey is an NHS consultant specialising in care
of the critically ill. He is writing under a pseudonym
As a young doctor on a cancer ward, I consoled myself with drink
and New Age nonsense. Then one evening I stepped into a chamber of horrors
Looking back over my 29 years
as a medic, I think my year at the cancer hospital was the hardest. Every
fourth day and weekend without fail, I would cover the intensive care unit for
24 hours as the resident middle-grade doctor. In all my time there, not one
patient survived, though not for lack of trying. Not one. . .
Music For Michael
This will make you want to go

Archangel
Michael by Two Steps From Hell:
Here’s another version with

Another version from Kazakhstan
Michael on Monday
The Catholic Church officially
recognizes 3 archangels and venerates them on September 29 (formerly on St.
Michael was venerated on this day.)
This old Irish poem/prayer speaks of
7 archangels using names that were mentioned in various books of the Bible.
Irish Hermit’s Prayer:
We know the names of the seven archangels which were familiar to the old Irish Orthodox.
This is an 8th century Irish prayer.
Michael on Monday
Raphael on Tuesday
Uriel on Wednesday
Sariel on Thursday
Rumiel on Friday
Panchel on Saturday
Gabriel on Sunday
Of Michael on Monday I speak, my mind is set on him.
Not with anyone do I compare him, but with Jesus, Mary's Son.
May the Trinity protect me! May the Trinity defend me!
May the Trinity save me from every hurt, from every danger.
If it be Tuesday, Raphael I mention, until the end comes, for my help,
One of the seven whom I beseech, as long as I am on the field of the world.
May the Trinity protect me! etc.
May Uriel be with me on Wednesdays, the abbot with high nobility,
Against wound and against danger, against the sea of rough wind.
May the Trinity protect me! etc.
Of Sariel I speak on Thursday, against the swift waves of the sea,
Against every evil that comes to us, against every disease that seizes us.
May the Trinity protect me! etc.
On the day of the second fast, Rumiel - a clear blessing - I have loved,
I say only the truth, good the friend I have taken.
May the Trinity protect me! etc.
May Panchel be with me on Saturdays, as long as
I am in this bright-coloured world.
May sweet Mary, with her friend, deliver me from strangers.
May the Trinity protect me! etc.
May Gabriel be with me on Sundays, and the power of the King of Heaven.
May Gabriel be with me always that evil may not come to me, nor injury.
May the Trinity protect me! May the Trinity defend me!
May the Trinity save me from every hurt, from every danger.

Why You Should Drink Whiskey Tonight
Today, we honor our guardian angel.
As you know, bourbon and scotch makers age their whiskeys
over many years, and some of the whiskey evaporates which is known as the “angels’
share” (while the liquid that seeps into the wood is known as the “devil’s
cut.”
So, pour yourself your favorite whiskey tonight and put out
an empty glass in honor of your guardian angel.
Even better, pour a second glass of whiskey and put it out
for your guardian angel to enjoy. If your guardian angel doesn’t
drink the whole glass, you can finish it and toast your angel with this prayer:
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen
