Jonathan Winters -- as you know, was certifiably insane -- was without controversy, the BEST improvisational comic that ever lived... I don't think he could have been so, if he had not been insane.  In this clip, the was handed a stick, and told to (in essence) "Do something funny."

It is nearly 50 years old and as funny today as it was on that night in
1964 when Jack Paar handed a simple stick to Jonathan Winters without a script.
