Obama's Strategy For The Middle East

On Thursday's Mark Levin Show:

President Obama is helping to build the Iranian Islamic caliphate while Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia look at us in disbelief. Obama, John Kerry, and leftist Democrat Jews in Congress are betraying us, putting party before country and surrendering to the enemy. At the National Prayer breakfast Obama condemned the entire Christian faith, yet when he speaks of Islam he walks on eggshells. He has no guiding principles except those in which he was indoctrinated; not a philosophy of liberty and progress, but of destruction.

Did you know:

Reports are coming out of Iran that Obama’s negotiators are begging for a deal with Iran.  The Iranians recently laughed as they reported that they have already gotten 80% of their demands from Obama’s team.   Obama has publically stated that he wants to allow Iran to be the dominant regional power in the Middle East in return for not assembling a nuclear weapon.  

This is why Obama does not want the USA anywhere in the Middle East.   He wants Iran to dominate the Middle East and control it.   Obama believes that the USA is an imperialist country that has too much influence in the world and must stop meddling in other countries.  

Iran is a Shiite Muslim country which is hated by the Sunni Muslim countries of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and half of Iraq.   Half of Iraq is now under Iranian control, and Obama will be content to let Iran take over all of Iraq.   This scares the hell out of Sunni Muslims.    If Shiite Iran gets nukes, then these Sunni Muslim countries will be forced to also get nukes as they know that the USA is no longer a reliable partner in the power struggle to contain Iran.

It will only be a matter of time before Iran breaks any agreements with the USA and goes ahead with nuclear weapons that can be used against Israel.   Israel will be forced to attack Iran to destroy such weapons that would be used to destroy Israel as clearly stated numerous times by Iranian leadership.   After destroying Israel, Iran can then turn to attack “The Great Satan” which is the USA.

Obama believes that Israel is the source of all problems in the Middle East.   He believes it needs to give away more land for peace.  This has been done in the past with no success.  Obama encourages Muslim outrage against Israel and the growing anti-Semitism in Europe and the USA.

Iranian forces crept into Iraq and killed hundreds of USA soldiers and Marines during the Iraq War.

Iranian forces are stationed in Cuba and Venezuela.   Their bases can be launching pads for assaults on the USA to include terrorists and eventually nuclear weapons.

Obama’s most trusted advisor is Valerie Jarrett.   She was born in Iran.  She runs the White House while Obama watches ESPN.  She is telling the negotiators to meet Iranian demands as she is desperate to obtain an agreement to enhance Obama’s legacy as the peace maker of the Middle East.

Expect Obama to soon announce that he has made an agreement with Iran that will bring “peace in our time” much as England’s failed leader Neville Chamberlain proclaimed when he signed an agreement with Nazis Germany in the 1930s.

Myth #1: The crusades represented an unprovoked attack by Western Christians on the Muslim world.

Nothing could be further from the truth, and even a cursory chronological review makes that clear. In a.d. 632, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Asia Minor, North Africa, Spain, France, Italy, and the islands of Sicily, Sardinia, and Corsica were all Christian territories. Inside the boundaries of the Roman Empire, which was still fully functional in the eastern Mediterranean, orthodox Christianity was the official, and overwhelmingly majority, religion. Outside those boundaries were other large Christian communities—not necessarily orthodox and Catholic, but still Christian. Most of the Christian population of Persia, for example, was Nestorian. Certainly there were many Christian communities in Arabia.

By a.d. 732, a century later, Christians had lost Egypt, Palestine, Syria, North Africa, Spain, most of Asia Minor, and southern France. Italy and her associated islands were under threat, and the islands would come under Muslim rule in the next century. The Christian communities of Arabia were entirely destroyed in or shortly after 633, when Jews and Christians alike were expelled from the peninsula.⁶ Those in Persia were under severe pressure. Two-thirds of the formerly Roman Christian world was now ruled by Muslims.

Myth #2: Western Christians went on crusade because their greed led them to plunder Muslims in order to get rich.

Again, not true. One version of Pope Urban II’s speech at Clermont in 1095 urging French warriors to embark on what would become known as the First Crusade does note that they might “make spoil of [the enemy’s] treasures,”⁸ but this was no more than an observation on the usual way of financing war in ancient and medieval society. And Fulcher of Chartres did write in the early twelfth century that those who had been poor in the West had become rich in the East as a result of their efforts on the First Crusade, obviously suggesting that others might do likewise.⁹ But Fulcher’s statement has to be read in its context, which was a chronic and eventually fatal shortage of manpower for the defense of the crusader states. Fulcher was not being entirely deceitful when he pointed out that one might become rich as a result of crusading. But he was not being entirely straightforward either, because for most participants, crusading was ruinously expensive.

Myth #3: Crusaders were a cynical lot who did not really believe their own religious propaganda; rather, they had ulterior, materialistic motives.

This has been a very popular argument, at least from Voltaire on. It seems credible and even compelling to modern people, steeped as they are in materialist worldviews. And certainly there were cynics and hypocrites in the Middle Ages—beneath the obvious differences of technology and material culture, medieval people were just as human as we are, and subject to the same failings.

However, like the first two myths, this statement is generally untrue, and demonstrably so. For one thing, the casualty rates on the crusades were usually very high, and many if not most crusaders left expecting not to return. At least one military historian has estimated the casualty rate for the First Crusade at an appalling 75 percent, for example.¹⁴ The statement of the thirteenth-century crusader Robert of Crésèques, that he had “come from across the sea in order to die for God in the Holy Land”¹⁵—which was quickly followed by his death in battle against overwhelming odds—may have been unusual in its force and swift fulfillment, but it was not an atypical attitude. It is hard to imagine a more conclusive way of proving one’s dedication to a cause than sacrificing one’s life for it, and very large numbers of crusaders did just that.

Myth #4: The crusades taught Muslims to hate and attack Christians.

Part of the answer to this myth may be found above, under Myth #1. Muslims had been attacking Christians for more than 450 years before Pope Urban declared the First Crusade. They needed no incentive to continue doing so. But there is a more complicated answer here, as well.

Up until quite recently, Muslims remembered the crusades as an instance in which they had beaten back a puny western Christian attack. An illuminating vignette is found in one of Lawrence of Arabia’s letters, describing a confrontation during post–World War I negotiations between the Frenchman Stéphen Pichon and Faisal al-Hashemi (later Faisal I of Iraq). Pichon presented a case for French interest in Syria going back to the crusades, which Faisal dismissed with a cutting remark: “But, pardon me, which of us won the crusades?”

19 Muslim hijackers killed more innocents in two hours on September 11th than the number of American criminals executed in the last 65 years.

The crusades happened 1000 years ago.

40 Days After Christmas - Happy Candlemas!

Festival of Lights, Feast of the Presentation, Candlemas . . .

Forty days after giving birth to a son, every Jewish woman was required to bring an offering before the priest—a lamb and a pigeon or turtledove if she could afford it—or two turtledoves or pigeons if she was poor.

These animals were sacrificed to the Lord, and the woman was declared cleansed of any impurity caused by childbirth (Leviticus 12:1-8). So forty days after Jesus was born, Mary traveled to Jerusalem with Joseph and Jesus and offered two turtledoves, just as the law required.

An Ancient Feast. The church celebrates this event in Jesus’ and Mary’s life every year on February 2—forty days after Christmas—and calls it “The Presentation of the Lord.” This is an ancient feast, whose origins stretch back at least to the early fourth century AD. And while its beginnings are shrouded in mystery, it has been celebrated in different ways and under different titles for seventeen hundred years. In the past, this feast was marked by all-night vigils, by candlelight processions, and even by a virtual marathon of homilies delivered by the local bishop and all the priests under him. Today, the celebration is much more modest. Some churches have retained a modified procession with candles, but for the most part the feast is observed with its own set of liturgical readings and prayers, and nothing more.

What Are We Celebrating? The Feast of the Presentation is one of those celebrations that means more than one thing. As we saw above, it recounts the way Mary and Joseph followed Jewish law concerning ritual purity for a mother who had recently given birth. At the same time, the feast recalls Mary’s encounter with Simeon and Anna, along with their prophetic words about both her and her Son.

Yikes!  Good luck with that impossible diet.

However, our ancestors followed  this plan for the first 1,000 years of the Church.

And, Lent used to last 60 days but is now only 40 days.

Why Easter Eggs:

Why do we give out Easter Eggs?   

Because our ancestors could not eat eggs for 60 days before Easter.

So, getting an egg on Easter was a very special treat.

How we became a bunch of winy wimps:

In the 10^th Century, the pope allowed the one meal/day to begin at 3pm instead after sundown.

In the 14^th Century, the pope allowed the one meal/day to begin at noon instead of 3pm.

In the early 20^th Century, our ancestors abstained from meat on Wednesdays, Fridays, and some Saturdays.

Today, we only have to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesdays and Good Fridays.  

Today, abstaining from meat on every Friday is optional but encouraged.
