Whatever Happened To Eden?

The forbidden fruit had been eaten and mankind was banished from the Garden of Eden. So what happened to Eden?

No one is quite sure where it was originally located, although there seems to be a general consensus that the garden was somewhere in the Middle East, perhaps in modern-day Iraq. Presumably, the great flood of Genesis would have wiped out it out, but, for centuries, the Christian world had an unquestioning belief in the continued existence of Eden on earth, hidden from man.

St. Thomas Aquinas <http://www.newadvent.org/summa/1102.htm>  wrote that the terrestrial paradise was “shut off by mountains, or seas, or some torrid region” which he said could not be crossed. So firm was the belief in the enduring physical presence of Eden that it was depicted on medieval maps. The belief persisted into the age of exploration: in 1498, Christopher Columbus recoiled with horror from sailing further up the Orinoco River in present-day Venezuela, believing that he was about to enter the Garden of Eden and would incur certain death as a result.

Today, with our maps now complete, it seems that Eden has truly vanished without a trace.

Obama – Destroyer of Families

Let’s all be very clear about one thing – Obama holds nothing sacred except that which is evil. If he doesn’t qualify as a precursor for the anti-Christ, then I would never want to meet the man who does.

Consider:

-       He has blasphemed God by invoking the blessings of the Almighty on Planned Parenthood – diabolical speak if ever there was such a thing.

-       He has appointed a string of activists homosexuals to ambassadorships all over the world with the intention of convincing these countries to be more so-called “gay-friendly.”

-       He has promoted sodomy as a marriage.

-       He has forced religious organizations .. not to mention individuals .. to have to be in opposition to their consciences with regard to their health care.

All those and much more evils he has advanced. Nero looked like a piker compared to this man.

But perhaps the most dangerous thing he has done .. IS doing .. is the total economic restructuring of the once most powerful economy in the history of the world.  He is attempting, with a large measure of success, to affect the human life cycle by screwing up the economy.

In the last year, 2 million Americans have left the labor force. And as of earlier this summer – the number of Americans forced into part-time jobs who WANTED full time work climbed to over 8 million.

So what is the trend here – a smaller percentage of people working over all. And of those who are working .. less and less full time jobs available.

Something is rotten in the economy. And when you factor in that even many of the full-time jobs that people secured were steps down from their previous jobs in terms of pay, hours and benefits – you can begin to see how the way is being paved for a total (and fundamental) transformation of the economy.  Less and less people able to work the jobs they want and NEED.

How come you never hear THIS story from the social justice squawkers in Church circles? Isn’t the dignity of man as worker a foundational concept in the Church?  But the same people who pretend to be the moralists and the high-minded with regard to poverty and social justice are the same ones who were working tirelessly to elect and advance Obama. 

Since the Church has sadly found itself so closely wedded to the culture, who can doubt who can doubt that as the culture disintegrates, it will not impact the Church as well?  The Church upholds the family – the traditional family. Yet many of the heads of these households aren’t able to find either work or the necessary work to sustain their families.  And as most people know – financial stressers are the leading cause of fights and arguments and lack of peace in the home.  If you back Obama and call yourself a Christian – consider what your vote for him has done to harm, hurt and break apart the traditional family.

The man supports evil – not only in the obvious forms of sodomy and child murder and contraception, but also – at the same time – by using his power over the economy to destroy families.

August 6: Impeach Obama Day

Nationwide “Impeach Obama” Protest Set for August 6

A grassroots group with thousands of members is planning nationwide protests August 6 calling for President Obama’s impeachment.

The group, “Overpasses for Impeachment,” has gained steam since launching in mid-June and now appears to have a presence on all 50 states.

Scores of protests are on tap, with members taking to overpasses above major throughways during morning and afternoon rush hour brandishing signs calling for impeachment.

The organizing has been done mainly via the group’s Facebook Page, which has spawned Facebook groups in all 50 states, most of which appear to have hundreds and in a couple of cases thousands of members.

The group has already staged dozens of overpass protests leading up to the nationwide event August 6. One in North Carolina, covered yesterday bythe Winston-Salem Journal, appears typical.

On Tuesday, 15 local protesters got an early start. They gathered at the Harper Road exit on Interstate 40 in Clemmons for three hours for what the organizer of the event, Michelle Taylor, said is “a precursor to the national movement.”

Protesters wielded hand-made signs declaring “Impeach Obama” and flags, joining in what is called “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment.”

Most states have multiple protests planned for August 6. The Florida group has scheduled 14, while at least eight will be held around California.

So far, the organization seems more a vehicle for protesting against Obama than actually impeaching him, as there is little evidence of any serious consideration in Congress to remove the president. The group’s websitelists a dozen “reasons for impeachment,” several of which focus on unilateral actions Obama has taken without the consent of Congress.

I checked Snopes and Truth or Fiction before forwarding this one on to you.  Both sites not only confirmed the authenticity of this letter, but further added that Myers was also interviewed on Fox News.  This is quite an eye-opener to say the least.

"Here is my story.

A week out the Embassy in Tripoli began receiving multiple tips about an Al Queda cell in the area planning an attack on 9/11 in response to the killing of Bin Laden.  For the next several days, the State Dept and White House were asked for a security force and were denied at least six times.  Ambassador Stevens and his team were given the all clear that The Consulate in Benghazi was safe and there was no need for a security force other than his 3 personal guards (One being my cousin) and a few Libyans who were not armed.

Then the attack and murders occurred.  Immediately the WH claimed it was a protest gone bad over a you tube video.  Obama made a quick speech in the Rose Garden on Sept.12 before catching a plane to Vegas to campaign.  He made a generic statement at the end of his speech after placing the blame on an overheated protest over the video.  He said  "No act of terror will shake the resolve of America .

Later that day and over the next 2 days, the liberal media began saying Ambassador Stevens and the other 3 men died of smoke inhalation. This was not the case. Out of respect for my cousin, I'm not going to be specific about his murder.

However Ambassador Stevens was brutally murdered. His genitals were cut off, he was sodomized and beaten and cut and stabbed and burned. He was dragged thru the streets and left for dead. This is eyewitness testimony of a local Dr. who found the Ambassador in a ditch and tried to save his life.  He had no idea who he was. The other 3 men, including my cousin, met similar fates. 

And deaths due to smoke inhalation is a 100% fabricated LIE. The next week I drove my aunt and Uncle and 2 others to DC to receive his body.  We met with Hillary, Panetta, and Susan Rice.  ALL of whom apologized and said it was a protest gone bad over a video and exited the area.  Next Obama entered with the same story and didn't apologize and wasn't sympathetic.

  My aunt cried to this man and all he did was hand her flowers and walk away.  I tried to get his attention, but didn't. I got upset and yelled liar to him, he kept walking. Then a secret service agent grabbed my arm and led me to a room where I was held till the proceedings were over.  

America, I saw firsthand how cold this man is.  What kind of liar he is.  Most of you haven't a clue about this tyrant and yet you support him and act like every word he says is Gospel.  These murders and the fast and furious cover ups make Watergate look like, a kid who told his bff's secret to the class. 

We must stop this man, and please pass this story along."

Your Journey To Eternity

The soul is breathed into the natural body at conception, animates the body until physical death, and then continues its life journey to eternity. Death is the death of the body, but not the soul.

Death is a necessary tunnel through which we must pass on our journey into eternity. Compare this to a child in the womb about to be born. The warmth and protection of the womb is all the child knows, and yet, after nine months it is time to be born. A whole new world awaits the child outside the womb, just like a whole new world, (eternity) awaits us after we die.

Death is often feared, yet eternity waits for us on the other side. Death is a fact of life, but not the end of life.

A Catholic loved one who is confronting death should receive the Annointing of the Sick, for the possible restoration of body and, most importantly, the soul.

Other ways to help prepare the sick person for death are to pray the Holy Rosary (focusing on the Sorrowful Mysteries), the Divine Mercy Chaplet, to St. Joseph (the Patron of the dying) for a holy death, etc. -- with the sick person, if possible, or in such a manner that he can hear you. This includes audible prayer for the unconscious; never think that those who are unconscious or in a coma can't hear you.

Prayers for all your loved ones whom have died. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

At HuffPo there is a stunningly dopey headline over a stunningly dopier opinion piece by someone named Larry Atkins, whom I don’t recall ever having heard of before.

Headline:  Why Would a Christian Want to Be a Republican, in Light of Pope Francis?

?!?

Here is the essential argument.

Pope Francis is for “the poor”.

President Obama is for “the poor”.

Republicans, I am not making this up, “frequently mock and hold in contempt the poor.”

Therefore,…

We should have even bigger government, which means that – in the name of Pope Francis himself! – you should be a Democrat or you are a bad Christian and, obviously, a bad person.

You have to read that piece.

Never mind the official Democrat promotion of abortion (the writer claims the Bible is silent on that, btw)….

Some people (Republicans) think that free-markets and entrepreneurship will help “the poor” more efficiently, more quickly, and in a way that protects and fosters their human dignity. Others (Democrats) think that money should be redistributed, in “fairness”, through the agency of a vast government bureaucracy.

Colin Powell Cheats on Obama

Looks like Colin Powell loves someone besides his buddy, Obama.  

Why isn’t this being reported more in the press?  It would be all over the news if this was a real Republican.

Colin Powell denies affair with foreign diplomat

Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, confronted by a hacker, denied involvement with a Romanian diplomat but admitted sending "very personal" emails.

The hacker, named "Guccifer," threatened to publish the electronic exchanges between Powell, 76, and Corina Cretu, 46, who now is a member of the European Union Parliament, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported Friday.

In the emails, which Powell described as being "of a very personal nature," Cretu calls him the love of her life, investigative website TheSmokingGun reported.

Cretu was a member of the Romanian delegation that greeted Powell and President George W. Bush when they visited Bucharest in 2002. She was also part of a Romanian delegation to Washington in March 2004.
Powell and his wife, Alma, have been married for more than 50 years. . .
