Test of Fire: Election 2012
We are not all catholic but this is a WOW of an ad from them. They
have to be given a big applause for such a direct ad trying to get people to
vote and express their views(votes) on some of the basic things that have made
us a Nation under God.

A Young Arab Asked His Father...
A young Arab
asks his father, "What is that weird hat you are wearing?"
The father said, "Why, it's a 'chechia' because in the desert it protects our heads from the sun."
"And what is this type of clothing that you are wearing?" asked the young man.
"It's a 'djbellah' because in the desert it is very hot and it protects the body." said the father.
The son asked, "And what about those ugly shoes on your feet?
His father replied, "These are 'babouches", which keep us from burning our feet in the desert."
"Tell me," added the boy.
"Yes, my son?"
"Why are we living in Dearborn, Michigan and you're still wearing all this shit?"

The President Has An Enemies List - And You May Be On It
Strassel: The President Has a List
Barack Obama attempts to intimidate
contributors to Mitt Romney's campaign.
Try this thought experiment: You
decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so
you engage in your democratic right to send a check.
Several days later, President
Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His
campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for "betting against
America," and accuses you of having a "less-than-reputable"
record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can
indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you),
is clear: You made a mistake donating that money.
Are you worried?
Richard Nixon's "enemies
list" appalled the country for the simple reason that presidents hold a
unique trust. Unlike senators or congressmen, presidents alone represent all
Americans. Their powers—to jail, to fine, to bankrupt—are also so vast as to
require restraint. Any president who targets a private citizen for his politics
is de facto engaged in government intimidation and threats. This is why
presidents since Nixon have carefully avoided the practice.
Save Mr. Obama, who acknowledges
no rules. This past week, one of his campaign websites posted an item entitled
"Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney's donors." In the
post, the Obama campaign named and shamed eight private citizens who had
donated to his opponent. Describing the givers as all having
"less-than-reputable records," the post went on to make the
extraordinary accusations that "quite a few" have also been "on
the wrong side of the law" and profiting at "the expense of so many
Americans."
Free Stuff!
The folks who are getting the
free stuff don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the
folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both
the free stuff and their own stuff.
And, the folks who are paying
for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop.
And the folks who are getting
the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are
already getting!
Now... the people who are
forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are
RECEIVING thefree stuff that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are
being mean, prejudiced, and racist.
So... the people who are
GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are
paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for
their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.
We have let the free stuff
giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than
paying for the free stuff.
Now understand this. All
great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and
250 years after being founded. The reason?
The voters figured out they
could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised
to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.
The United States officially
became a Republic in 1776, 236 years ago. The number of people now getting free
stuff out numbers the people paying for the free stuff. We have one chance to
change that in 2012. Failure to change that spells the end of the United States
as we know it.

Jewish View on Catholics
Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.
Jewish Sam Miller on Catholics
Excerpts of an article written by non-Catholic Sam Miller - a prominent Cleveland Jewish businessman:
"Why would newspapers carry on a vendetta on one of the most important institutions that we have today in the United States , namely the Catholic Church?
Do you know - the Catholic Church educates 2.6 million students everyday at the cost to that Church of 10 billion dollars, and a savings on the other hand to the American taxpayer of 18 billion dollars. The graduates go on to graduate studies at the rate of 92%.
The Church has 230 colleges and universities in the U.S. with an enrollment of 700,000 students.
The Catholic Church has a non-profit hospital system of 637 hospitals, which account for hospital treatment of 1 out of every 5 people - not just Catholics - in the United States today
But the press is vindictive and trying to totally denigrate in every way the Catholic Church in this country. They have blamed the disease of pedophilia on the Catholic Church, which is as irresponsible as blaming adultery on the institution of marriage.
Let me give you some figures that Catholics should know and remember. For example,
12% of the 300 Protestant clergy surveyed admitted to sexual intercourse with a parishioner;
38% acknowledged other inappropriate sexual contact in a study by the United Methodist Church ,
41.8% of clergy women reported unwanted sexual behavior;
17% of laywomen have been sexually harassed.
Meanwhile, 1.7% of the Catholic clergy has been found guilty of pedophilia.
10% of the Protestant ministers have been found guilty of pedophilia. This is not a Catholic Problem.
A study of American priests showed that most are happy in the priesthood and find it even better than they had expected, and that most, if given the choice, would choose to be priests again in face of all this obnoxious PR the church has been receiving.
The Catholic Church is bleeding from self-inflicted wounds. The agony that Catholics have felt and suffered is not necessarily the fault of the Church. You have been hurt by a small number of wayward priests that have probably been totally weeded out by now.
Walk with your shoulders high and your head higher. Be a proud member of the most important non-governmental agency in the United States .
Then remember what Jeremiah said: 'Stand by the roads, and look and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is and walk in it, and find rest for your souls'. Be proud to speak up for your faith with
pride and reverence and learn what your Church does for all other religions.
Be proud that you're a Catholic."
Please pass this on to every Catholic on your e-mail list.

God,
grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change,
the
courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me.
